Best Employment Positions for Vampires

You might never have given it a second thought, but what job would best have suited a vampire through history?
I'm thinking "Barber".
This is a blood letting machine from the 1800's. It has sharpened blades, for a nice even cut, and it depth adjustable so it doesn't go too deep and completely sever arteries.
Blood letting was considered a menial job; doctors (physicians) would consult, then determine that bloodletting would help the patient, then delegate that procedure. Who did the actual cutting? Yes, you've guessed it.
A Barber.
Sometimes many pints of blood were bled from the patient over a few weeks.
The traditional red and white striped barber's pole holds a deep, more macabre meaning.
Red stripe; the blood. White stripe; the tourniquet used to stem the flow.
Oh, and the pole idea? The stick put in your mouth to bite on. Yup, it was painful.
So... a barber would be a 'perfect' day job for a vampire.
